The upcoming weekend marks the highlight of the FARE AW in Switzerland. In total ten clubs of the first two leagues of the Swiss Football League will wear jerseys with the message “Against Racism and Violence”.
Sponsors give up space for message
The club’s sponsors give up their space on the jerseys to provide room for the logo. BSC Young Boys and the fan club ‘Together Against Racism’ started this initiative in 2008.
This season the following clubs joined the campaign: BSC Young Boys, FC St. Gallen, AC Bellinzona, Neuchâtel Xamax FC, FC Thun (all Super League), FC Vaduz (Liechtenstein), FC Stade Nyonnais, FC Schaffhausen, FC Winterthur, SR Delémont (all Challenge League)
Lukas Meier from the FARE network Switzerland, organisers of the activities said,
It is great to recognise that Swiss clubs join the fight against discrimination in the line with European top clubs like FC Barcelona, FC Chelsea or FC Bayern Munich.
