Against homophobia in football!03 November 2006

Sunday, November 5, 2006, Paris Foot Gay (PFG) will play for the first time against a team of supporters of Paris Saint-Germain, during a gala game against discriminations.

Karim OUMNIA, CEO of Baliston, will kick off this game which will launch the Carton Rouge à l'Homophobie (“Red Card to Homophobia”) operation, at the Parc des Princes right before the PSG vs. RC Lens game.

Paris Saint-Germain, once more a partner of the PFG for this action, gave carte blanche to the fashion designer Agnès b., PFG's main sponsor and patron of the operation. For this evening against homophobia and discriminations, Agnès b. will kick off the PSG – Lens game and will be at the origin of the tifo shown in the stands before the game, as well as of a film against discriminations that will be broadcast before the game and at half-time. A Carton Rouge à l'Homophobie badge, designed after the operation logo, will also be handed out to the spectators.

The Carton Rouge à l'Homophobie project aims at making all actors in French football sensitive to homophobia, and at gaining a commitment from the French football authorities to face at last and openly and systematically condemn this discrimination, as the UEFA already does.

For this very action, PFG is supported by Paris Saint-Germain, Agnès b., Vikash Dhorasso, its patron, Baliston, its équipementier, and SOS homophobie. Two amateur football clubs from the French Federation of Football, Entente Montrabe Beaupuy (in the South of France) et FC Chooz (in the North of France), already joined PFG and committed themselves, as did Paris Saint-Germain, to wear the Carton Rouge à l'Homophobie logo on their jerseys.

Because the time has come to make people's attitude change. Because homophobic insults that can be heard in stadiums must stop. Because gay football players, whether professional or amateur, should live without hiding himself or lying to others. Because he should not be afraid of being despised, insulted or worse: definitely rejected.
