Changing the Chants initiative launches new website

Monday 22 March: Changing the Chants, an innovative and international cooperation between Anne Frank House, Borussia Dortmund, Feyenoord Rotterdam and Fare network has today launched its new website.

Supported by the European Union’s Rights, Equality and Citizenship Programme, the goal of the Changing the Chants project is to deepen the understanding of the approaches football clubs can take when educating fans on antisemitic behaviour in the football stands, while still supporting local football communities to prevent and respond to it.

Speaking about the Fare network’s involvement in Changing the Chants, Head of Programmes, Niels van Muijden, said: “We’re delighted to be working with some fantastic partners on this important project. We aim to inspire other clubs to put tackling and preventing antisemitism at the forefront of their work”.

Changing the Chants builds upon two separate educational programmes for football fans organised by Borussia Dortmund and Feyenoord. The activity with the clubs will be used as pilot schemes to encourage new practices for restorative justice.

The new website - https://changingthechants.eu - includes all the information about the goal of the project. It will present all outputs and results of the project, news and information about forthcoming events including the final conference in September 2021
