Following the first call for action, the interest in the forthcoming FARE Action Week against Racism and Discrimination in European Football (13 – 25 October 2005) has been fantastic. With more than five weeks to go before the 6th FARE Action Week kicks off, dozens of NGOs, fan clubs, football clubs, ethnic minority organisations and youth initiatives from all over Europe have already developed elaborate ideas and proposals for actions in and outside football stadiums.
To encourage a variety of grass-roots events, FARE is offering small grants of €400 for a range of local or regional activities that will take place in the context of the FARE Action Week. The wide range of activities supported include the production of campaigning materials (banners, flyers, fanzines, posters), the production of fan choreographies and flags, and the organisation of stadium actions and community days, as well as football-related intercultural events such as special matches, tournaments and debates.
The deadline to apply for these small grants ends on Wednesday, 7 September 2005. If you wish to apply for financial support for you activity, please visit our website at http://www.farenet.org/page.asp?intPageID=31 where you will find application forms in English, German, Italian, French and Spanish. Completed applications can be posted, emailed or submitted online.
FARE partner Show racism the Red Card Scotland has made available additional grants and resources for the Week of Action in Scotland. Deadline to apply is 12 September. For further details visit their website at http://www.theredcardscotland.org
