Exhibition on Football and Gender to be held in Berlin: Call for Artists16 February 2011

The Schwules Museum Berlin – due to its much-noticed exhibitions, its considerable collection and essential research contributions, is an internationally highly acknowledged institution for archiving, researching and communicating LGBT history and culture.

Flanking FIFA's Women’s World Cup 2011, the Museum is setting up an exhibition beginning July ending September 2011. With this exhibition the curators seek to aim at showing colours and addressing football as yet another conflictive field of 'doing gender'.

The Schwules Museum invites artists to explore this multilayered subject of gender, sexuality and football! For the upcoming exhibition, artists are asked to submit their works addressing the topics of football and gender.

Selected works will be displayed and documented at the Schwules Museum. A catalogue will complete the exhibition.

The curators will accept drafts or existing works with no limitations in artitisic disciplines.

Please submit the following documents (please do not send in originals!):
• CV (max. 1page DIN A4)
• annotations (max. 1page DIN A4)
• if applicable: catalogues, reviews, further publications
• works/drafts as video or audio (all current formats such as *.mpg, *.avi, *.mov, *.mp4, *.wmv, *.wav)
