Exhibition opening: 'Against the rules – lesbians and gays in sport' in Berlin07 April 2010

Presented by the office for acceptance campaigns of the Ministry for Youth, Family and Health of the federal state of Nordrhein-Westfalen and produced by SC Janus, Cologne’s Centre for Gay History et al, the exhibition 'Against the rules – lesbians and gays in sport' is the first of its kind to address these issues. The exhibition was updated in 2009 by the EGLSF and translated into English. While making no claims to being comprehensive, it seeks to help remove the taboos that surround the subject of homosexuality and sport and to draw attention to the multi-faceted discrimination against sexual minorities in sport. Moreover, it aims to demonstrate that sport offers lesbians and gay men the opportunity to go about their lives with confidence.

'Against the rules – lesbians and gays in sport' is a travelling exhibition from the EGLSF and can be hired free of charge. The only costs to be paid are for transport.

The opening event takes place in Berlin on 4th May.
