German LGBT fan groups meet at QFF conference in Dusseldorf

Over 100 delegates of LGBT fan groups from Germany, England, Switzerland and the Netherlands met between 27-29 March in Dusseldorf, Germany, to discuss homophobia in football at the Fare member Queer Football Fanclubs (QFF) 16th international conference.[/intro_paragraph]

The event was hosted by WarmUp95, Fortuna Dusseldorf LGBT fan group, and held during the Dusselstrand Cup, an international multi-sport tournament organised in Dusseldorf in which over 1,000 participants from across Europe compete in 10 sports.

The three-day event was composed of workshops, debates, a visit to Fortuna Dusseldorf stadium and a evening social, the latter of which also counted with the presence of the Dusseldorf Mayor Günter Karen-Jungen. Following the network's recent elections, QFF structures and action points were also discussed.

Pleased with the event's outcome, QFF president Dirk Brüllau said: "It is very exciting to discuss new areas of work and future actions. The workshops went very well as well."

The QFF next conference will take place between 04 and 06 September 2015, in Zurich, Switzerland.
