Getafe players to blacken faces in racism protest03 December 2004

In a clear rejection of racism the players of Spanish first division side Getafe will take the field with blackened faces at their next home game. “We are against racism and xenophobia and will express this in the clearest terms”. The initiative comes in response to some racist chanting by a group of Getafe fans against Barcelona's star Cameroon striker Samuel Eto'o during a recent match (source: ANSA).
