The free training is for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex people who are fans of football in Scotland and who are keen to influence their clubs to take a stand against homophobia, biphobia and transphobia, or are interested in setting up LGBT fan groups.

The initiative is part of a new training programme of LEAP Sports and the Fare partner Football v Homophobia and will be co-delivered by Pride in Football in conjunction with the Equality Network and Proud Dons – Scotland’s first LGBT football fan group. It will be held on Saturday 12 August, from 10.30am to 4pm.

The first training was held in January. After the event, Hugh Torrance, Executive Director LEAP Sports, said: “Our training has come about as a result of community members speaking to us about their experiences in the football stands.

“By creating strong partnerships with fans, we can ensure that the work of Football v Homophobia in Scotland is well informed and has the best possible impact.”
