Boy de la Tour, who became the first woman elected to the LFP’s Administrative Council in 2013, had been the organisation’s Director General of their Football Foundation for the last eight years.
Boy de la Tour was running against former France coach Raymond Domenech, backed by the newly elected Administrative Council, whose candidacy was rejected by two-thirds of the General Assembly.
“I thank all the clubs and the football families for their trust. Important issues are before us. Professional football must regain confidence and cohesion. With Didier Quillot and all the teams of the League, we will work together to work in this direction.” said the new LFP president.
Boy de la Tour takes over from Jean-Pierre Denis who was president on a caretaker basis after Frederic Thiriez stepped down in April following 14 years in charge.
