For the first time ever in French professional football players publicly take part in a video against homophobia. Remarkable is the participation of the Professional Football League's president, the one and only french football institution who sustains the activities of Pars Foot Gay since 2008.
Not to forget the remarkable presence of the President of Montpellier, Louis Nicollin, who made PFG notice his change of position about this matter (in Auxerre, he tagged the player Pedretti as a “fag” in front of many cameras of Canal+).
This video is the proof that opinions are really changing for the better when it comes to homophobia.
Since the foundation of Paris Foot Gay they have noticed the strong impact that these attitudes and declarations have brought to young players and supporters.
PFG give thanks to the football teams of the number-one league which have signed the paper: Girondins of Bordeaux, Montpellier Hérault sport club and Paris Saint-Germain. Thanks to them that video clip had been realized. And, Evian Thonon Gaillard Football Club is the only one who has answered positively the request to sign the paper against homophobia launched by the Football Professional League on May 8th. Logically, PFG expect that the teams represented by their players on this very video clip, namely Olympique Lyonnais and Stade Rennais, will follow the same path. As well as for the other 32 football teams of the league number 1 and 2.
Paris Foot Gay asks all the teams to publish this video on theirs website. In the video (in order of appearance): Frédéric Thiriez (Président of the Professional Football League), Nicolas Douchez (Stade Rennes), Sonny Anderson (ex-player of the Lyon), Dimitri Szarzewski (Rugby – Stade Français), Marc Planus (Bordeaux), Matthieu Chalmé (Bordeaux), Miralem Pjanic (Olympique Lyon), Romain Danzé (Rennes), Ludovic Giuly (Paris St. Germain) and Louis Nicollin (President of the Montpellier).
