Photo competition highlights women’s football in France08 January 2015


The initiative comes after a successful first edition of the competition and aims to creatively portrait Foot d’Elles’ core values of solidarity, diversity, respect, team spirit, equality, friendliness and openness, and others including effort, performance, engagement and passion.

Mêmes rêves de foot‘, which emphasises how women and girls also dream about pursuing a career in football, is also helping to promote women’s football in France and equality in the sport.

In its first edition an exhibition was organised featuring the best pictures. The launch event, held at the Paris FC and Paris Saint-Germain Féminines Charléty stadium, on 26 September 2014, members of French football and former players, including the former France international Lilian Thuram, Brigitte Henriques, General Secretary of the French Football Federation and Arnaud Simon, General Director of Eurosport, marked their presence and support to the initiative.

To enter the new competition, which will end on 31 March, participants should submit their pictures via the competition’s website. Three different prizes will be awarded to the best photographies, including: flights and a ticket for the 2015 Women’s World Cup final, in Canada, for the best individual photography; a ticket to the Women’s Champions League final, stay and flights for the best team picture; and a signed jersey of the women’s team FCF Juvisy for the most shared photo on social media.
