Spanish LFP host workshop series on fair play and diversity

A number of clubs across Spain have been benefiting from the Spanish professional league's (LFP) workshop Taller de Integridad, which is looking to educate professional, amateur and youth players on fair play and anti-discrimination practices.

The workshops include debates on the issues around violence, respect for diversity, racism and homophobia, but also touches other areas of the game such as doping in football, the appropriate use of social media platforms and the newly adopted laws on verbal and physical violence in professional football.

After addressing the 42 clubs of La Liga BBVA and Liga Adelante last season, the LFP started, in November, a new series of workshops for grassroots clubs and youth players aged between 12 and 18 years old.

Highlighting the clubs' interest in the workshops, Manuel Quintana, director of the LFP integrity department, said: "They [the clubs] have understood the importance of prevention and education in the fight against the manipulation of the game and fraud.

"Through this initiative we are informing young players on importance of their behaviour in promoting fair play in football and society".

Rayo Vallecano, SD Eibar, Villarreal CF, CA Osasuna, CD Lugo, Valladolid CF, SD Ponferradina, Getafe, Real Sociedad and Atlético Madrid are some of the clubs that have already participated in the initiative, which will come to an end this month.
