Workshop
Within the ongoing projects realised by the Balkan Alpe Adria Project, the workshop “Stronger Together – Football Unites” will be held on 4 August in Belgrade.

International guests will exchange opinions on the topic “International dialogue and multicultural fan work on the Balkans”. Further the meeting will discuss best practice examples and initiatives that contribute to the overcoming of ethnic discrimination and racism in the field of sports. Stakeholders of the UEFA, the football associations of Ireland, Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia and Bosnia & Herzegovina and the European Council/EPAS will exchange with representatives of NGOs from the Western Balkans as well as of the FARE network – Football Against Racism in Europe and FSE – Football Supporters Europe.

The Workshop is hosted by the Balkan Alpe Adria Project-BAAP and FairPlay-VIDC in cooperation with the Serbian Football Association and the European Council/EPAS and supported by UEFA, the King Baudouin Foundation and FARE.

Balkaniade 2011
Following the workshop the final tournament of this years’s Balkaniade will take place on 7 and 8 August in Cuprija (Serbia). The opening of the Balkaniade will be carried out at the main square in Cuprija city.

BAAP started the Balkaniade emphazising the promotion of international youth-exchange in the field of sports in the Western Balkans. Youth teams from the Western Balkan countries will come together to play football, to have fun and to interact with each other. The football tournament will be hosted by the national football associations and local clubs.

Prior to the final tournament regional qualification tournaments will be played in Kotor (Montenegro) and Trebinje (Bosnia & Herzegovina). In total 24 teams from Serbia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Macedonia, Croatia, Albania and Montenegro will participate in the Balkaniade.

Additionally, Ivana Milosevic of BAAP organizes an evening event on 8 August including musical and dramatic acts all about the topic “Stronger Together – Football Unites”

Football unites the Alps, the Adriatic and the Balkans
The Workshop and the Balkaniade are part of the FairPlay-VIDC and the BAAP campaign “Football Unites the Alps, Adriatic and the Balkans 2010-2012”. In cooperation with the King Baudouin Foundation, the football associations in Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia & Herzegovina and FARE as well as many regional and international partners, activities are being realized during the period between January 2010 and December 2012.
