UEFA Cup final highlights the fight against racism19 May 2005

The UEFA Cup final played on Wednesday 18 May 2005 in Lisbon, has once again highlighted the fight against racism in football. UEFA sent out a powerful message via its ‘Unite against racism’ perimeter advertising at the match between Sporting and CSKA Moscow at the Estadio Jose Alvalade. Additionally, the official match programme carried a prominent feature about joint efforts of FARE and UEFA to eliminate racism from the game.

In the run-up to the Champions League final in Istanbul, UEFA introduced a new section on anti-racism on their official web-site www.uefa.com. A series of features dealing with the question of racism are being published in seven different languages.
